Parakeets
Budgies/parakeets/budgerigars are all the same type of bird. They generally live in Australia away from people. They come in a wide variety of colours such as blue, green, white, yellow, or in different combinations of the colours. They love to be near eucalyptus leaves especially when the leaves are wet. They are generally fly in small flocks but under the right conditions are flying in huge groups. They don't have a permanent home so are usually constantly moving. In general budgie males have blue noses and females have pink noses. They love to be given attention and usually would be playing with another bird a lot if kept in the same cage as another budgie. They require cuttle bone so that they don't grow their beaks too long. Also they need fresh water and seeds constantly. They like to play with mirrors because sometimes they think that there is another bird in the mirror. In Florida there have been some budgies which have been seen flying around but they only did that because they had escaped from captivity. They clean themselves by preening so that they can remove dirt to help them fly. They show affection to a friend(another budgie or even a person) by preening their friend's feathers or by feeding them. (Eating some seed than regurgitating it back out for their friend) When feeding a budgie don't give them chocolate, rhubarb, alcohol or avocados because those are toxins for the little birds. They may also shriek when they want food even if they are able to talk.
